Teaching Mode — Build Tarot Spreads Face-Up

Open any tarot deck face-up and manually drag cards to positions. Perfect for students, teachers, and anyone studying tarot card meanings.

Teaching Mode turns any tarot deck face-up so you can pick the exact card you need and place it directly onto the spread. The shuffle is skipped — ideal for practising specific layouts, studying combinations, or demonstrating a spread to students.

  • Flip the entire deck face-up with one toggle in Settings
  • Scroll through all cards and hover to peek at the full face
  • Drag any card to any spread position — Celtic Cross, Lenormand, and more
  • Undo the last card placement and swap it out freely
  • Setting persists across sessions via your account preferences

How to enable Teaching Mode

Open the ⚙ Settings menu in the top-right corner of the reading board and toggle Teaching on. The deck panel immediately switches from a face-down shuffled fan to a scrollable, face-up list of every card in order.

Pick, place, and undo

With Teaching Mode active, hover over a card to lift it for a closer look, then drag it onto any empty position in the spread. If you change your mind, tap the Undo button in the deck panel — the card returns to the deck and the slot opens again.

Great for tarot students and teachers

Use Teaching Mode to practise how specific card combinations read in each position, prepare demonstration spreads for lessons, or study the full arc of a spread before committing to a real reading. Works with every deck in the library — Celtic Cross, Tree of Sephiroth, Lenormand, and all author spreads.

Frequently asked questions

  • Does Teaching Mode work with all spreads?

Yes — it works with the Celtic Cross, Tree of Sephiroth, Lenormand Grand Tableau, Mystery of the Priestess, Twelve Houses spreads, and any other layout available in the app.

  • Can I still get an AI reading after placing cards in Teaching Mode?

Yes. Once you have placed all cards, reveal the spread as normal and request an AI interpretation — Teaching Mode only affects how you select and position the cards.

  • Is my Teaching Mode setting saved?

Yes. The setting is stored in your browser's local storage and synced to your account preferences, so it stays on across sessions until you turn it off.
